Handle with Care explores the fragile intersections between human perception, ecological systems, material decay, and modes of communication. Through phytography and cyanotypes to Super 8 and digital deconstruction, these works reveal deeply personal and environmental entanglements across time, place, and medium.

Film has proven such a remarkably durable medium for artists that in recent years it’s started to feel like “film is dead” is finally becoming a minority opinion again. We’ve only been able to get to this point through the efforts of artists who have demonstrated analog cinema’s viability by continuing to make work on film, and the growing network of analog exhibitors and community-driven skill sharing initiatives that have supported them. While the films in this program take a diverse set of artistic approaches, all of the artists behind them share a stubborn unwillingness to just let film go

Live Music Meets Silent Film & Experimental Shorts
Experimental Echoes is an interdisciplinary event featuring two distinct experiences: a live musical performance synchronized with silent experimental films and a curated selection of non-narrative shorts. The first half merges live music with silent films for an immersive audiovisual experience, while the second half showcases dynamic visuals and rhythmic editing, immersing audiences in music, dance, and sound.
Electroacoustic composer Annie Dodson performing original compositions live, synchronized with silent films, including 16mm works by Malic Amalya and Hogan Seidel. Dodson’s music explores ecology, queerness, and intimacy through slow, repetitive processes, pushing artistic boundaries.
